In light of recent events, we have decided to modify our practices here at Ottawa Funeral Home. It is very important to us that we keep everyone, families and employees, safe and healthy in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The following are the guidelines based on the current government orders:
The CDC and other health officials recommend social gatherings, including funerals, graveside services, and family memorials, be limited to 50 people in the building at one time. Most churches in the area have opened up with limited attendance, but we continue to follow their individual rules on a case by case basis. For all funerals, a face covering must be worn and social distancing will be enforced.
Every family member we assist is part of our family at Ottawa Funeral Home, and we understand the importance of grieving. Grief does not stop in the midst of a pandemic, and we will work with each and every family through their grieving process. Those individuals in our care will remain in the safe and caring hands of the funeral home during this time.
It takes an entire community to come together at a time like this. Reach out to your loved ones and friends during their time of loss, and remember you are not alone.
From the bottom of our hearts, we appreciate everyone following the rules and keeping each and every one of us safe. We would also like to thank everyone for their patience and kindness as we navigate this trying time together.
As more information becomes available, we will update our website and Facebook page. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns please call the Ottawa Funeral Home at 815-433-0300.
Sincerely, Nelson and Karen Nussbaum
