William C. Boyd

William C. Boyd, 70, of Ottawa passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.

A gathering for family and friends will be held from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, March 24 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with military honors at 7 pm. A celebration of Bill's life will follow, at 7:30 pm at the Ottawa VFW. 

Bill was born September 3, 1951 in Ottawa to Pearl (Eide) and Donald Boyd. He was a proud member of the United States Navy, serving from 1969-1973 during the Vietnam War and stationed on the USS John F. Kennedy CV67. He married Kim (McDonald) on June 9, 1989 in Ottawa. 

Bill retired from Nutrient Ag in Marseilles. He was a hard worker and a family man. He loved spending time boating and drinking a beer with his family and friends. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cooking.

He is survived by his wife, Kim; four sons, Jason (Jaci), Justin, Donald, and Adam (Shannon) Boyd; six grandkids, Natalie, Patrick, Callie, Caitlyn, Madison, and Addi; his great-granddaughter, Hadley; his brother, James Boyd; his Godson, Jamie Boyd; and his granddog and buddy, Ace. He was preceded in death by his father, Don; his mother and stepfather, Pearl and Raymond Bianco; his grandson, Logan; and two brothers, Myron "Mike" and Duane Boyd.
