Verna Mae Sondgeroth, 90, of Ottawa, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Pleasant View Lutheran Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am Thursday, April 29 at St. Patrick's Church, with Fr. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 am - 11:00 am at the church. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Dixon, IL.
Verna was born April 25, 1930, in Lee Center , IL, to Vernon and Beatrice (Riley) Morning. She married Robert Sondgeroth on June 7, 1952 in Amboy, IL. He passed away June 4, 1984
She was a member of the Sweet Adelines, book club, and the founder of Ladd's Board of Education. She was known for the parties she would host and for her beautiful flower arrangements.
She is survived by her daughters, Connie LaVanway and Cathy Warren; her son, Robert (Lucy) Sondgeroth; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 10 great great grandchildren.
Verna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her son in law, Richard LaVanway.
Pallbearers will be Nick LaVanway, Riley Kroll, Dylan Strait, Bob Baker, Emily Chiado, Karoline Cuellar, and Brody Warren.
