Veda M. Gould, 87, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2012 at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Funeral Service for Veda will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2012 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Duane Kaufman officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be at Oakwood Memorial Park. Veda was born October 6, 1924 in Wedron, Illinois to Frank and Rose (Clouse) Bounds. She married Melvin L. Gould on January 12, 1941, in Ottawa. He died March 26, 1995. She was a member of the Ottawa Moose VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary Post #33, TOPS, long time member of First United Methodist Church of Wedron and First Evangelical Methodist Church in Ottawa. She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Lamm of Knoxville, Tennessee; one son, Charles Gould, Sr. of Ottawa; forty-three grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Naomi (Louis) Kuk of Ottawa and Mary June (Earl) Schmitt of Ottawa; and caregivers, Judy Denbo, Cheri Dee Hackler, and Teri Miskell. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Melvin "Punk" Gould, Jr. and Larry Gould, Sr.; one brother, Frank Bounds; and one grandson, Ronnie Gould. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Charles Jr., Richie, Scott, Tony, Todd, and Dewey Gould. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Teri Miskell, Kari Sue Gwin, Meri Jo Grunsted, Debby Shea, and Wendy Lee Gould. Memorials may be directed to the family.
