Richard L. Holman, 98, of Seneca, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Lightways-Joliet Area Community Hospice.
Funeral Services will be held at noon on Saturday, March 26 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Seneca, with Pastor Kris Zierke officiating. Visitation will be from 10 am to noon, prior to services, at the church. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
Richard was born December 2, 1923 in Washburn, Wisconsin to Carl and Fannie (Armstrong) Holman. He married Frances (Lukaskawcez) on October 13, 1949 in South Dakota; they were married for 58 years before her passing on October 27, 2007. Together, they enjoyed spending time singing, traveling, and playing cards.
Richard was a proud member of the United States Army, serving from 1944 to 1945. He retired from DuPont Chemical Company after more than 37 years. He was an avid cribbage player and loved to teach others how to play. He was both a member and greeter at Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
He is survived by three sons, Richard "Rick" (late Wendie) of Wisconsin, Jon (Teresa), and Scott (Cheri) both of Seneca; seven grandchildren, Randy, Winter (Matthew), Jon Adam (Amanda), Felecia, Taylor (Ryan), Taryn, Brian (Abby), and Justin (Jessi); twelve great-grandchildren, Autumn, April, Mikey, Peyton, Clarke, Mason, Everly, Quinn, Kacie, Teagan, Camden, and Karsyn; and his great-great-grandson, Colt.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Frances; and his five siblings, Jack, Vera, June, Mickey, and Charles.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
