Olga Maria Pacheco Brilhante, 79, of Ottawa passed away Monday, October 19, 2020 at Ottawa Pavilion.
Memorial Mass will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, October 23 at St. Columba Church, with Rev. Gary Caster officiating. Ottawa Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
Olga was born in Sao Miguel (Salga) in the Azores island Portugal to her parents Raul and Dina Pacheco Correia on September 21, 1941. She was married twice, to William Pereira and John Brilhante.
She moved to the US in 1960 and settled in Newark, NJ. In 1976, Olga moved to Sheridan, IL. She worked at Caterpillar for 5 years. She and her husband John moved many places before she returned to Ottawa, IL. She worked as a CNA at Rivershores in Marseilles, IL & Reliable in Ottawa, IL. Olga loved to dance, listen to music, do crossword puzzles & cook. She enjoyed fashion and enjoyed knitting. She had two main passions, being near the sea and learning. She was an avid reader. Books were special companions to her.
Olga was a devoted mother and a beloved grandmother. She was loved by so many. We will miss her.
She is survived by her children, Edward (Bobbie) Pereira, Deborah (Dillard) Wilson, Linda Pereira, Nina (John) Eliuk, and Mary (Ron) Ross; grandchildren, Christopher Wilson, Madeline Wilson, Amanda (Josue)Rodrigues, Sarah Ross, Ashton Pereira, Cameron Pereira, Matthew Brilhante, Dominic Dykstra, Hannah Dykstra & Penelope Eliuk; great-grandchildren, Landen Kuykendall, Milo Rodriguez, Mateo Rodriguez, Lilliana Brilhante & Quinn Wilson; siblings, Armindo (Maggie) Correia of Woodstock, CA, Diomar (Dulce) Correia of Acushnet, MA, and Jose (Lenea) Correia of New Bedford, MA; and many nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her parents and older brother Libero Pacheco.
