Marilyn Isabelle McLennan

Marilyn Isabelle McLennan, 86, of Serena, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.

Visitation will be Friday, July 21, from 6:00pm until 7:00 pm at Community of Christ Church, 2768 N 3350th Rd., Marseilles, IL 61341. A funeral ceremony will follow at 7:00pm, with Pastor Tami Perryman officiating. 

Marilyn was born October 19, 1936, in South Wilmington, IL, to Anton and Lucy (Jewett) Vaira. She married John Edward McLennan on August 12, 1954. He preceded her in death on October 20, 2014. 

Marilyn was extremely giving and worked for many years caring for the elderly. When she wasn't working, she could be found attending her monthly Marseilles Karaoke Club get togethers. She was a member of Community of Christ Church and an over 50 year supporter of Outreach International. 

She is survived by her son, Jon M. McLennan of Sheridan, IL; her three daughters, Patricia (David) Schulz of Eau Claire, WI, Valerie (Greg) Lovero of Brooksville, FL, and Lisa (Rob) Wollwert of Serena, IL; her grandchildren, Amy (Matt) Jones, Nathan (Caitie) Lovero, Tonia Lovero, Nicole Lovero, Brianna (Michael) Johnson, and Hunter (Levi) Futrell; her great grandchildren, Kendall and Liam Jones; her sister, Charlotte Curtis; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years, John E. McLennan; her brother Joseph Vaira; her sister, Pat Vaira; and her daughter in law, LeeAnn McLennan.
