Marguerite D. "Blondie" Rossiter, 87, of Ottawa passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
Memorial services will be held at 10 am, Friday, May 28 at St. Patrick's Church, with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 am, prior to services, at the church. Family and friends attending will kindly be asked to wear a face covering and maintain social distance. She will be buried in St. Columba Cemetery. Ottawa Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
Blondie was born June 12, 1933 in Ottawa to William and Marguerete (Charlier) Fribbs. She married William Rossiter on March 31, 1951 at St. Patrick's Church. Together, they spent 50 wonderful years until his passing on October 6, 2001. Blondie was full of life and always smiling. She made friends with everyone she met and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Patty Gray of Ottawa; two grandchildren, Molly (Miguel) Gonzalo of Park Ridge and Patrick Gray of Ottawa; granddaughter-in-law, Shannon Stevenson; five great-grandchildren, Alexander, Christopher, and Piper Gonzalo, Bella Gray, and Carter Gray; her dear best friend, Ruthie Packham; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her grandson, Brian Gray; two sisters, Alberta Killelea and Lucille Roth; and her brother, Earl Fribbs.
Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to her family or a charity of the donor's choice.
