Margaret A. "Peg" Chaney, 79, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2013, at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa, surrounded by her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at St. Patrick Church in Ottawa with Rev. Jules Adator officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, at Ottawa Funeral Home with prayers at 4:00. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Peg was born November 14, 1933, in Ottawa, Illinois, to Edward and Minnie (Tucker) Wolfe. She married Clifford Chaney on September 27, 1952, in Ottawa. He died in 1985. She retired from BWD after 25 years. She was a member of St. Patrick Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia (Ed) Abernathy of Ottawa and Connie (Pat) Burke of Ottawa; one son, Patrick Chaney of Ottawa; six grandchildren, Amy Proctor, Angela Helms, Stephanie Tri, Nathan Tri, Brennan Chaney, and Dylan Chaney; six great grandchildren, Haley, Eli, Brayden, Genevieve, Logan, and Rosie; and one brother, Edward (Cathy) Wolfe of Ottawa. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Pallbearers will be Edward Abernathy, Brennan and Dylan Chaney, Nathan and Stephanie Tri, and Philip Wolfe. Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick Church.
