Joseph W. Crowley, 88, Of Ottawa, IL died on Friday September 2nd at Aperion Care in Spring Valley, Ill.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday September 6th at St. Columba Church with the Reverend Gregory Jarzombek, OSB officiating. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 - 11 AM on Tuesday September 6th at St. Columba Church.
Joseph was born Thursday, October 12, 1933 in Ottawa, IL to Joseph A. “Checker” Crowley and Evelyn “Sue” (Shumaker) Crowley.
He served in the U. S. Army from 1953 to 1955. Joe retired from a construction career as a member of the Operating Engineers Local 150. He was a member of St. Columba Church.
He is survived by one daughter Patricia (Mark) Hetherington of Ashville NC, five sons Michael (Barbara) Crowley of Ottawa, Martin (Marianne) Crowley of Lake Forest, CA, Thomas (Manon) Crowley of Naperville, IL, John Crowley of Chicago, IL, and Daniel (Lynn) Crowley of Ottawa, his four brothers Jim (Sue) Crowley of Lake Forest, IL, Tim (Judy) Crowley of Sarasota, FL, Kevin Crowley of Kenosha, WI, and Brian (Sheila) Crowley of Arlington Heights, IL, and four Sisters Penny (Kelly) Magoonaugh, of Ottawa, IL, Candy (Gerry) Gaudet of Ottawa, Canada, Kalah (Jim) Hauser of Gurnee, IL, and Michelle (Craig) Witt of Cary, IL, and his sisters-in-law Deanna Crowley of Ottawa and Mary (Greene) Crowley, of Huntington Beach, CA, 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers Jeremiah “Toby” and Denis “Dee”.
Pallbearers will be Family.
