John W. Spampanato, 72, of Seneca passed away peacefully with family at his bedside on Saturday, March 6, 2021.
A graveside memorial service for friends and family will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, March 13, at Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles, with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
John was born January 15, 1949 in Ottawa to Frank and Alice (Tucker) Spampanato. He was a handyman with many talents. Worked at LOF Glass and Edward Fox Photography Studio. John had many hobbies. He was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, archery, walking, bicycling, and kayaking. He also enjoyed drawing, painting, and ballroom dancing.
He is survived by one son, Jeff (Jennifer) Spampanato of Oswego; his daughter, Jennifer (Mark) Wiborg of Seneca; five grandchildren, Nathan and Anna Spampanato, Shelby (Brad Ralston) Boren, Katelynn, and Chloe Wiborg; one great-grandson, Colten; four brothers, Michael, Daniel, David, and Terry Spampanato; two sisters, Phyllis and Bonnie; and his longtime special friend, Phyllis Fiedler.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jason; his brother, Douglas; and two sisters, Barbara Robertson and Connie Spampanato.
