Jane Bloom, 95, of Ottawa, IL died Saturday, January 9, 2021.
Jane was born July 14, 1925 to Anton and Mary (Plantan) Gende.
She married Arley “Ben” Bloom January 22, 1949 at St Roch’s in LaSalle and they were married 62 years until his death on June 24, 2011.
Prior to marriage, she worked at Westclox. After raising her children, Jane later worked at various Ottawa businesses and at Indiana General (Eicor) in Oglesby. Jane was an Avon lady for more than 35 years and earned President’s Club recognition many times. She was a member of KSKJ American Slovenian Catholic Union and St Columba Church.
She is survived by her daughter Cathy (Michael) Leslie of Oswego, her son Joseph Bloom of Joliet, grandchildren Kimberly and Scott, and great-grandchildren Jack, Benjamin, Isabelle and Miles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her son James who died December 8, 2020, and her parents. Her siblings and their spouses Anthony (Theresa) Gende, Mary (William) Walters, Sue (Ray) Daniels, Joseph Gende and Theresa Gende also preceded her in death.
Private family service was held and she was buried beside her husband at Oakwood Memorial Park, with Father Gary Caster officiating.
