James Mitchell, 67, of Ottawa, IL, passed away Monday November 22, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, in Peoria Il..

No services will take place according to his wishes. Ottawa Funeral Home has been entrusted with his care.  

James was born May 29, 1954, in Detroit, MI, to James A and Letitia (Paschka) Mitchell Jr. . He married Frances Richard in Princeton, IL . 

He retired from Ownes Glass Co in Streator after 40 years, He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1973 to 1977 Graduated from Streator High School, enjoyed watching Baseball (Chicago Cubs) and a member of American Legion Post 33.

He is survived by wife, Frances Mitchell, two daughters Jamie L. (Bryan) Montgomery of Springhill, LA Spring (David) Gonzales of Columbia SC, five grandchildren, two great grandsons, his sisters Sherry Bentley of Ottawa, Letitia Martin of Seatenville, Il. his brother Byron (Jamie) Mitchell Springfield, Il. and Jason (Kim) Mitchell of Racine, WI. and numerous nieces and nephews. 

James was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Patricia (Sue).
