Francis "Mac" McGrath, 92, formerly of Jacksonville, Il and recently of Carol Stream, IL, died, Thursday, April 21, 2011 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at St. Columba Church, with the Rev. David Kipfer, and Deacon Ron Yurcus officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park, with Military Services. Visitation will be 9:00 to 10:30 AM Wednesday April 27, 2011 at the Ottawa Funeral Home. Mac was born January 25, 1919, in Serena, IL. to James John and Jessie (Ross) McGrath. He married Marjorie Styles on February 14, 1942 at St Columba Church in Ottawa. He was a member of Our Saviour Catholic Church in Jacksonville, Life Member of Knights of Columbus, American Legion and Elks Lodge. He served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII and retired Lt. Col. from US Air Force Reserves. He retired from the USDA in 1975. He is survived by two daughters, Peggy (Howard Goldstein) McGrath of Glen Ellyn, Il and Patricia McGrath of Ormond Beach, FL; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother Bob (Ivis) McGrath of Ottawa and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother, James, and one sister, Dorothy Albritton. Pallbearers will be family members . Memorials may be directed to CNS Home Health and Hospice, 690 E. North Ave., Carol Stream, IL 60188 or to Our Saviour Catholic Church, 500 E State St., Jacksonville, IL 62650.
