Elizabeth Ann Stone (Liz) of Naplate, Illinois passed away on July 12, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
Liz was born to James Ormond and Mary Ann (Valesano) Stone on August 7, 1962. She attended Ottawa Township High School and most people remember her from working at popular
local restaurants like the Hi-Way, Hanks and Tequila Eddies.
She had four children, Jimmy, Leighann, Lucas and Rena, and a mother, Mary Ann, that she loved with all of her heart. She had a palpable passion for life and a sparkling personality that
caused her to be loved by all that knew her.
Liz moved to the Vero Beach, Florida area in 1995 to be close to her father. In 2017 she was diagnosed with primary biliary cholangitis and she returned home to Illinois on July 15, 2018 to
fight her battle.
Liz always had a passion for helping others which is why she made the selfless decision to donate her body to science. Through this act, she hoped to help find a cure for her rare
disease.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Joseph and Rena (Flori) Valesano and Guy Stone and Irene (Guilum) Stone-Downing and her father.
She is survived by her mother; her children, Jimmy Ceja of Ottawa, Leighann (Lee) Follis of Ottawa, Lucas Brown of Ottawa, and Rena Higgins of Vero Beach, Florida; 2 brothers Jim (Wendy) Stone of Marseilles and Vince (Kathy) Stone of Vero Beach, Florida; and, 10 grandchildren, Dominic, Molly, Jessica, Charlotte, Kaleigha, Penelope, Vivienne, Lucas, Knox
and Liam.
