Earl Meyer Obituary

Earl J. Meyer, 80, of Crossville, TN, formerly of Seneca, IL passed away Thursday, September 23 in Tennessee.

Memorial services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, October 16 at Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home, with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Visitation will be from 10 am to noon, prior to services, at the funeral home. He will be buried in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Seneca.

Earl was born on September 25, 1940 to Earl O. and Freida (Siebring) Meyer. He was born and raised in Gilman, IL where he spent many years. He lived in a number of towns in Illinois, eventually settling in Seneca, where he married Sharon Sadowski on August 26, 2006. Earl was a jack of all trades and worked as a self-employed contractor. He was a busy handy man and was always tinkering, woodworking, and actively caring for his greenhouse in Tennessee.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; two daughters, Dawn (Bill) Kiesling of Heyworth, IL and Pam (Jim) Whiteaker of Princeton, IL; his stepson, Karne (Kathy) Holcer; four grandchildren, Nathan, Lauren, Jeff, and Steven; nine great-grandchildren; and one brother, Arnold (late Pat) Meyer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Freida; three sisters, Mardelle Trumble, Charlotte Shepherd, and Lillian in infancy; two brothers, Walter and Roger "Mick" Meyer.

Memorials may be directed to Amedisys Hospice in Knoxville, TN.
