Debra Barra

Debra Marie "Diamond" Barra (nee Hougas), 55, of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at her home.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 29, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will follow at 1:00pm, at the funeral home, with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Private burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. 

Debra was born July 20, 1967, in Ottawa, IL, to David Phillip Hougas and Colleen Rohde. 

She enjoyed going boating, fishing, and going motorcycle riding. She loved getting dressed up and doing her hair and makeup, and she always had her jewelry. For many years, she worked as a beautician and sold Mary Kay makeup, before she retired. She liked classic rock music. Above all, she loved her children and grandchildren. She loved spending time with them. 

She is survived by her children, Deandra (Donald) Wort, Jessica Barra, and Dillon (Johnna) Balk; her grandchildren, Eric Wort, Melissa Wort, John Mann, Sophia Wort, Jayse Olson, Rileigh Johnson, Thea Johnson, Ethyn Downey, Christopher "CJ" Balk and Kinsley Balk; her mother, Colleen Rohde; and her siblings, Karen Keist, Sally Hougas, and Arlow Hougas.

She was preceded in death by her father, David Phillip Hougas; her brother, David Allen Hougas; and the love of her life, Rich Barra.
