Deborah Lynn Knudtson, 63, of Serena, passed away Monday, March 8, 2021 in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Due to the abundance of caution during the current pandemic, a memorial service will be held via Zoom meeting with the Ottawa Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses on Saturday, March 20. The Zoom Meeting will begin with a visitation from 2:30pm-4pm followed by a Funeral Discourse at 4PM. Please contact Debbie’s son-in-law Jacob LaReaux at lareaule@gmail.com for more information. Ottawa Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with cremation rites.
Debbie was born February 13, 1958, the daughter of Orin and Virginia (Matteson) Hall. She was a graduate of Serena High School Class of 1976. She married Larry Knudtson on November 14, 1975 in Ottawa. She was a life-long member of the Ottawa Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She will be sorely missed by her loving congregation. She loved to read her Bible every day and share it with others.
Debbie also worked and had a booth at Gramma's Attic in Ottawa. She was a talented artist and painted many works on commission. She particularly enjoyed painting scenes with animals and also painting animals on rocks which was much in demand. She passed on her artistic talent to her children. Debbie really enjoyed cruising around in her favorite cars, her Trans Am and '40 Ford Coupe. Deb was a true "country girl" who was "born on a horse" and spent some of her favorite times with her beloved horse Dusty. You could also find Debbie sitting outside under the Wisteria arbor enjoying the birds and watching her horses run around. She loved her peaceful country home, and above all Deb dearly loved her family and loved to make everyone happy.
She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Larry; two loving children, Lauren (Jacob) LaReaux of Serena and Nick (Elizabeth) Knudtson of Peru; brothers, Mark (Jacques) Hall of Diamond Coal City and Darrin Hall of Ottawa; sisters, Brenda Hall of Chicago and Tracy (Wei) Liang of Peru; and nieces and nephews, Phillip, Rebecca, Hannah, Zach, Jonathan, Matthew, and Dinah.
