David Alderman

David Alderman, 72, of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 31, from 10:00am until 12:00pm noon, at Ottawa Funeral home. Funeral ceremony will follow at noon, with Msgr. Mark Merdian officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded to Ottawa Funeral Home & Crematory. 

David was born July 17, 1950, in Streator, IL, to Charles N. and Phyllis (Gingher) Alderman. He married Christina Corrie on September 18,1981 in Ottawa. 

He was a 50 year member of Pipefitter's Local 81 and 597, retiring in 2010. He was an avid Bears and White Sox fan. When he wasn't working, or supervising his children working, he enjoyed fishing and never missed an opportunity to attend one of his grandchildren's sporting events; he was an extremely proud "Papa". 

He is survived by his wife, Christina Alderman; his children, Raechel (Clay) Drake, Eric (Laura) Jensen, Grady (Maggie) Alderman, Colby (Larissa) Alderman, and Chelsea (Beau) Hellman; his grandchildren, Walker and Grace Drake, James, Sonny, Jesse, Leo and Eli Alderman, and Baron and Bryce Hellman; and his siblings, Mark (Nikki) Alderman, Nancy (Dave) Lund, and Edward Alderman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his two siblings, Sallie (Bob) Maag and Charles T. Alderman.

Memorials may be directed to the family to make donations in David's honor at a later date.
