Craig M. Armstrong, Jr.

October 5, 1961 — June 6, 2019

Craig Morley Armstrong, Jr., 57, of Ottawa passed away peacefully from leukemia at OSF. St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria on June 6, 2019. As he requested, a private ceremony was held at the Vermilion River in Lowell, IL. Ottawa Funeral Home & Crematory was entrusted with cremation rites.
Craig was born October 5, 1961 in Ottawa to Craig Morley Armstrong, Sr. and Maralee Rae Johnsen.
Craig acquired his AA degree in history from Wentworth Military College in Lexington, MO in 1982, and continued his history studies at University of Washington in Seattle. He remained a history buff all of his life. Craig was an avid outdoor sportsman, world traveler, and film and music enthusiast. He will be remembered for his love of nature and animals, quick wit, and expansive intellect.
He is survived by his mother, Maralee; sister, Nancy (Bill) Tippett; brothers, James (Janell) Armstrong, and Drs. Matthew (Kari) Gretencord; and many beloved nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Craig and his grandparents, Adolph and Mary Johnsen.
In lieu of flowers and cards, donations to OSF St. Francis in Peoria would be appreciated by all who loved him.
