Corey Alan Parker, 29, of Ottawa, passed away Friday, October 8, 2021.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 8:00 pm Tuesday, October 12, at Ottawa Funeral Home, with Pastor Cheri Stewart officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Ottawa Funeral Home. Masks and Social distancing will be required.
Corey was born January 18, 1992, in Winchester, TN. He loved to skateboard, cook, and spend time with his friends and family, especially his nephew. He spent his free time outdoors, hiking and fishing. He was always listening to music, dancing and going to concerts and music festivals where he discovered his favorite band, the Disco Biscuits. He was caring, funny, and most of all, generous; he would give the shirt off his back or the shoes off his feet to anyone that needed it and on several occasions he did just that. He never met a stranger and made so many friends along the way and touched so many lives. Corey loved with his whole heart and would do anything to help someone who was feeling down. He would try to make people see the worth and good in themselves while he struggled with finding them within himself. Lives are better for having known Corey aka CP and Morris Mulberry.
He is survived by his parents, Larry and Alena Thorson; his sisters, Taylor (Lorenzo Samuel) Thorson and Mackenzie Thorson; his maternal grandparents, Evelyn Perry and Jimmy Kelley; his nephew, Ky'Aire Samuel and his niece on the way; his uncles, Adam Kelley and family, Brian Thorson and family, and Allen Kelley; a special great aunt, Katie (Vern) Heft; as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Larry Sr. and Judy Thorson.
Memorials may be made to support suicide prevention and awareness, mental health awareness, alcohol and drug addiction awareness, or Ottawa Pads Shelter.
