Christine Greene

Christine Ann Greene, 69, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at the Ottawa Pavilion. 

As per Christine’s wishes, there will be a service on Monday May 9, 2022 at 4:00pm at the Southside Christian Church in Ottawa with Pastor Tim Stanek officiating. Cremation rites have been given to Ottawa Funeral Home. 

Christine was born on December 10, 1952 to Richard and Imogene (Waltz) Forsythe in Livingston, New Jersey. Her father remembers the day fondly and will tell the story of how he traveled from Illinois to New Jersey and made it just in time for Christine’s birth. Christine graduated from West Geauga High School. She married Alan Norman Greene on November 9, 1974. Together, they share their son, Tim.

Christine was mainly a homemaker throughout her life, but enjoyed working at Blackberry Farm in Aurora, IL where she taught others about spinning and weaving. She found her true passion in raising her Shetland Sheep and could talk for hours on end about them. Together, Chris and Alan ran Shepherdwoods Farm. 

Christine is survived by her father, Richard Forsythe of Homewood, IL; two brothers Clark (Karen) Forsythe of Homewood, IL and Bill (Brenda) Forsythe of Newnan, GA; one son, Timothy (Lindsey) Greene of Ottawa, IL; many nieces and nephews, and her devoted husband of 46 years, Alan Greene. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Imogene Forsythe, in 2021.
