Brian Boam

Brian Boam, 40, of Darien, IL, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, from Covid complications.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 am on Saturday, January 15 at St. Columba Church, with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 am, prior to services on Saturday at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. 

Brian was born June 19, 1981, in Palos Heights, IL, to Robert and Nancy (Nimocks) Boam. He graduated from Marquette High School and attended IVCC and ISU before earning his Master's Degree from St. Xavier's. Brian taught at Dorn School in Hickory Hills and was a driving instructor for Top Driver in Downer's Grove for seven years. Being recognized as "Teacher of the Year" in 2014 reflects his love and dedication to his students, school, faculty, and community of Dorn School. 

Brian was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was an avid Chicago Cubs, Bears, Duke, and Notre Dame fan. Brian was best known for his sense of humor, his absolute love for his children, positive attitude, and his willingness to lend a hand to his family and school. 

He is survived by his children, Addison and Wesley; his parents, Bob and Nancy; his sister Kristen (Kevin) LeRette; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents and his niece, Alexis Wright. 

Pallbearers will be Noah Wright, Kevin LeRette, Jerry Bender, Tony Champagne, Nick Bernal, and Gary Nimocks .
