Obituary

Barbara Kay Bohler, 73, of Ottawa, passed away Friday, April 28, 2023 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

Private family services will be held.

Barbara was born November 10, 1949, in Ottawa,Il, to Tranquillo and Agnes ( Hannigan) Balocchi. She graduated from Marquette High School in 1968. She married to Joseph Bohler on April 4, 1970 at St. Columba Church, Ottawa, IL. They were married 53 years. 

Her first love in life was her family.  She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed traveling and visiting family.  She valued the simple things in life; nature, a bike ride, sitting in the backyard, painting, spending time with her sisters, antiquing and collecting dolls, especially barbies. 

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Bohler ; her children, Peter (Tracy) Bohler, April (Kenny) Bohler, and Ryan (Kimberly) Bohler; her grandchildren, Dustin, Taylor, Payton, Sofia, and Savannah; her great-grandson, Preston; her sisters, Billie Armstrong, Mary Jo Brei, and Sandy Kummer; as well as many nieces and nephews.  

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Pat Polancic; and her granddaughter, Claudia Smith. 

Memorials may be directed to American Heart association and Safe Journey.
