Zita "Boots" Diamond, 84, of Ottawa passed away Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Glen Rose Medical Center in Glen Rose, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Friday, St. Patrick Church in Ottawa, with the Rev. Joseph Donton, officiating. Entombment will be in the Shine of Rest Chapel Mausoleum at Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Ottawa Funeral Home. Prayers at 5:00 PM. Zita was born April 27, 1927 in Mendota, Illinois to John and Zita (Moriarty) Kelly. She retired from the Secretary of State Drivers Services. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Gold Star Mother at the American Legion, VFW, Republican's Women's Club in Ottawa and Cleburne, Texas. She is survived by one daughter, Shirley (Dennis) Johnson of Cleburne, TX; one son, Kenneth (Sharon St. Michel) of Leander, TX; five grandchildren, Brenda (Tim) Hay of Raleigh, NC, Michael (Trish) Budach of Ottawa, Michelle (Vincent) of Fresno, CA, Darrin (Maria) Johnson of Cambridge, MA, twins William Diamond and Christine Diamond both of Cedar Park, TX; nine great-grandchildren, Britney and Jen Hay, Wesley, Brandy, and Hank Budach, Alexandra and Joey Hernandez, Nova and Zoey Johnson; three step-grandchildren, Erin (Jeff) Jackson, Stacia St. Michel, and Mykala St. Michel; two step-great-grandchildren, Chase Towne, and Zoe Jackson. She is preceded in death by her parents; two children, William Diamond Jr and Gloria Diamond Smith. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren; Brenda Hay, Michael Budach, Michelle Hermandez, Darrin Johnson, William Diamond, and Christine Diamond.
