William Sedlock

William "Bill" Sedlock, 95, of Cordova, TN, formerly of Ottawa, died August 23, 2009 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 am, Saturday August 29, 2009 at St. Columba Church with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be from 9-11:00 am Saturday at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with military services. William was born May 9, 1914 in Streator, IL, to George and Pauline (Sprock) Sedlock. He entered the Army in March of 1942 and served under General Patton in the European Theater with the 86th Reconnaissance in the 6th Armored Division. During his career in the Army he married his first love, Rosemary Eschbach of Ottawa, in California on September 3, 1943. They had three children; Billy Joe, Marianne, and Michele. Rosemary died October 13, 1961. Bill married his second love, Marie Faletti on June 29, 1963 at St. Columba Church in Ottawa. Bill retired after 30 years of service at Libby-Owens Ford in 1977. At this time Bill and Marie retired to Green Valley, AZ, where they lived for sixteen years. They moved back to Ottawa for a short time and spent the remaining years of their lives in Tennessee with their daughter, Marianne. Marie died July 27, 2000. He is survived by two daughters, Marianne Sedlock of Cordova, TN and Michele (Bob) Battistelli of Ottawa; three grandchildren, Aaron, Ryan, and Brenda Battistelli all of Ottawa; two brothers, Joseph (Doris), Dan (Norma) Sedlock; one sister, Josephine Brozak all of Streator; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by one son, Billy Joe; three brothers, Steve, Carl, and Leo; four sisters, Pauline Connor, Alice Jaegle, Chrysanthia and Dorothy Sedlock. Pallbearers will be his nephews; Joe, Bill, and Dan Sedlock, Dan and Paul Brozak, Jim Jaegle, Bob Eschbach, and Rick Vignali. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tim and Jim Eschbach, Stephen Norman, Tony Sedlock, Carl, Gregory, David, and Michael Connor, and Art and Chuck Jaegle.
