William T. Rosencrans

William T. Rosencrans, 95, of Ottawa, passed away Monday, February 3, 2025 at Arc in Streator.

Mass of Christian Burial for Bill will be Tuesday, February 11, at 10:30am at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Columba Cemetery. Cremation rites have been entrusted to Ottawa Funeral Home.

Bill was born January 24, 1930, in LaSalle, Illinois, to William Salmon and Edith Boissenin. He owned and operated Darif and Rosencrans Masonry Contractors. He is a member of St. Columba Church, Shoreline Boat Club, past member of the JC, K of C, Ottawa Elks, and Starved Rock Yacht Club.

He is survived by four daughters, Renae Hockaday of Michigan, Beth (Joe) Ugolini of Seneca, Mary (Buck) Rosencrans of Ottawa, and Kara (Michael) Adams - of North Carolina; four sons, William Rosencrans of Ottawa, Bob (Denise) Rosencrans of Ottawa, Rodney Rosencrans of Ottawa, Jeff Rosencrans of Ottawa; one step-child, Lori (John) Upton, of Houston TX; sixteen grandchildren; (Matt Hockaday, Nick Hockaday, Josh Rosencrans, Kaitlin (Adam) McClure, David Buck, Craig Buck, Jamie McGarvey, Jessica (Jon) Neu, Erin (Eric) Price, Austin (Cassie) Rosencrans, Taylor (Jeff) Racic, Karly Rosencrans, Landon Rosencrans, Jacklyn Simpson, Brady (Katie) Smith and Jillian Clanton); eleven step grandchildren (Kathryn Upton, Jeffrey (Monica) Upton, Brittany Monroe, Ashley Monroe, Emily Monroe, Lacey Monroe, Alicia Shea, Emily (Jeff ) Davis, William Jessen, Natalie (Broc) Kinney, Megan (Matt) DeMoss, thirty three (33) great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, one brother-in-law Dan Walko of Maryland and long time companion Jan Carr of Ottawa.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Laurie Rosencrans and Kim Brock; three stepchildren Brett Monroe, Craig Monroe and John Upton; one great granddaughter Lucy DeMoss; his parents; his Step-father William Rosencrans; his brother Richard Rosencrans of Seneca, and one sister, Susan Walko of Maryland.

Memorials may be directed to the donors' choice.
