William Allen Pearson

William "Bill" Allen Pearson, 77, of Ottawa, IL passed away May 18, 2010 at his home. Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:30, Saturday, May 22, at Ottawa Funeral Home. A Memorial service will follow at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Doug Williams officiating. Per Bill's wishes, his body has been donated to science. Bill was born June 16, 1932 in Plover, Iowa to William and Judith (Tungland) Pearson. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Beverly Tibbles August 26, 1954 in Streator, IL. Bill graduated from Ottawa High School in 1950. He attended Northern Illinois, completing extension and night courses and receiving his IAHE license in 1968. In 1991, Bill retired from the Illinois Department of Transportation as a Civil Engineer with 31 years of service. He then worked at LaSalle County Highway Department for several years. Bill is survived by his wife, Beverly; two sons, William (Linda) of Streator, and Jeff of Ottawa; two daughters, Lynette Stephens of (Peoria) and Teresa (William) Cadwallader of Newport Beach, CA; four grandchildren, Krystal Orenic, Melissa Bruck, Lauren, and Ryan Cadwallader; one great grandson, George Orenic; three sisters, Beverly Houchin of Mazon, Shirley (Tom) Ruprecht of Sarasota, FL, and Cathy (Larry) Brewer of California. He is preceded by one granddaughter in infancy and one brother, Donald Pearson. Memorials may be directed to Ottawa Regional Hospice.
