William "Bill" Hogan

William Hogan, 76, of Ottawa passed away Friday, December 19, 2014. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi with Rev. Augustin Kassa officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Monday, December 22, 2014 at Ottawa Funeral Home with a rosary at 3:45 pm. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Bill was born February 6, 1938 in Ottawa to William and Dora (Boyer) Hogan. He married Rita McInnes on May 2, 1969 in Depue, Illinois. He retired from Catepillar after 32 years of service in 1998. He was a member of St. Francis Church, K of C 4th Degree, American Legion, and the Senior League at Prairie Lakes Golf Course. He served in the National Guard in 1955 to 1957 and then the U.S. Air Force from 1957 to 1961. He loved his entire family. Bill was a good man, avid golfer and enjoyed fishing. He was an easy-going man that will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Rita; one daughter, Michelle Hogan; one sister, Reita (Wayne) Hetelle; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Vince Hogan; and five sisters, Bernice Reed, Theresa Mullin, Ann Callahan, Wilma Redelsperger, and Roberta Hogan.
