William Duckworth

William F. Duckworth Jr., 69, of Ottawa, IL, died Tuesday, August 25, 2009, at Ottawa Regional Hospital and Healthcare Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, August 29, at St. Mary's Church in Naplate with the Rev. Lourduraj Ignatius officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 pm Friday, August 28, with prayers at 4:00. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery at a later date. Cremation rites will be accorded. William was born October 24, 1939 in Ottawa, IL, to William Sr. and Florence (Flaherty) Duckworth. He was involved in the Drum and Bugle Corp. at Marquette High School before graduating in 1957. He then served in the Marines from 1958-1961. He married Lola Armstrong December 31, 1985 in California. She died June 15, 1990. He is survived by his mother; one brother, John "Jack" Duckworth of Antioch, IL.; and many nieces and nephews. William is preceded in death by his father; two sisters, Rita Larsen and Florence Andrews; and one brother, Jim Duckworth. Pallbearers will be his cousins and nephews. Memorials may be directed to Ottawa Rescue Squad or to the family.
