William Dean

William K. Dean, 61, of Ottawa, IL, passed away Sunday April 3, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Private services were held at Galloway Cemetery, with Duane Kaufman officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to the Ottawa Funeral Home.

Bill was born August 29, 1960, in Ottawa, IL, to William H. and Ellen Joy (Meyers) Dean. He married Cynthia "Sue" Martin on Sept. 22, 1982 in Lincoln IL.

From an early age Bill took an interest in motor cycles and fast cars, owning several of each in his teen years.  He was a life-long fan of the music from his youth.  The sounds of Willie Nelson, Led Zeppelin, and Lynyrd Skynyrd could be heard cranking from his family's famed pontoon conquests of the Illinois river.  He played guitar for fun and enjoyed learning his favorite songs to try out on friends and family.  Bill was a rabid Chicago Bears fan and a motorsport enthusiast.  He loved spending time with his family--humans and dogs alike--and savored entertaining his granddaughter on FaceTime.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia "Sue" Dean; a son, Billy (Katie) Dean; a granddaughter, Sadie; and his sister, Rebecca (Kenneth) Redfern.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
