William B. Bruck

William B. "Bill" Bruck, 83, of Ottawa passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Ottawa Pavilion. Funeral Services will be held at 10 am, Friday, June 23 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Visitation will be 4 - 7 pm Thursday, June 22 at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery, with the Ottawa American Legion Veterans Group in attendance. Bill was born December 19, 1933 in Ottawa to Harold and Violet (Travis) Bruck. He married Norma Remejes on June 30, 1962 in St. Patrick's Church in Ottawa. Bill was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps. He retired from Libby Owens Ford. Bill enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and walking along the canal. He was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears, and he liked to travel and hike in the mountains. He was a member of the American Legion, the VFW, and the Moose. Bill was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa. He is survived by his wife, Norma; two sons, Doug (Cindy) Bruck and Steve Bruck, both of Ottawa; three grandkids, Seth, Chloe, and Aiden; one brother, Ron (Sharon) Bruck of Ottawa; one brother-in-law, Ken Remejes of Michigan; one sister-in-law, Marlene Bruck of Ottawa; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Don Bruck; two friends, Nick Dougherty and Aunnie Helfrich; and his faithful walking companion, Shadow. Pallbearers will be Doug, Steve, Seth, Aiden, and Ron Bruck, and Ken Remejes. Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or Pet Project.
