William Brewster

March 19, 1922 — January 24, 2010

William (Bill) Brewster, 87, of Seneca, died Sunday, January 24, 2010 at St. Margaret's Hospital in Spring Valley. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Assembly of God Church in Seneca with Rev. Tim McGeorge officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at Assembly of God Church. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Seneca, IL. with the military folding and presenting the flag to the family. William was born March 19, 1922 to Rev. Marsh and Virgie Brewster of Monticello, KY. He married Bertha Hale in Lawton, OK in 1944. She died in 1997. Bill enlisted in the Army Tank Corp on Nov. 18, 1942 and served in the European Theater earning a Bronze Star during WWII. Following the war Bill worked a number of jobs but settled in Seneca working for E.I. DuPont until his retirement. He is survived by one son, Garry (Wanda) Brewster of Vancouver, WA; one daughter, Connie (Joseph) Bradley of Seneca, IL; ten grandchildren, Laurel (Kevin) Brewster-Hill, Dr. Michael (Cindy) Miller, Christina (Larry) Miller-Barnett, Garry Johnson, Andrew Brewster, Kathryn (Brian) Brewster-Wright, Joseph Brewster, Mike Bradley, Holly Sakellaris, John Bradley; and fifteen great grandchildren; three brothers, Tom Brewster, Wallace Brewster and Ray (Aliene) Brewster. Preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Haywood and Keith Brewster. Pallbearers will be Paul, Mike, and Allen Brewster, Garry Johnson, Mike Miller, and Larry Barnett. Memorials may be directed to the family.
