Willard Savage, 88, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away Monday, October 20, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Saturday, October 25, 2014 at St. Patrick's Church with Father Tony Fevlo officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 pm Friday, October 24, 2014 at Ottawa Funeral Home. He will be buried in Lost Land Cemetery in Streator. Willard was born May 31, 1926 in Streator, Illinois to Willard and Zelma (Hoarty) Savage Sr. He married Linda Westman on May 22, 1992 in Naples, Florida. He graduated from Streator High School. He worked as a farmer and at Borg Warner. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church and Streator Knights of Columbus. He was a very humble man; always kind and considerate. He coached the Angels baseball team for Ottawa American Little League for 20 years. He was an avid duck collector for over 25 years and loved sports. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda; one daughter, Mary (Savage) Montgomery; two step sons, Jerry (Kim) Carrier and Timothy (Lisa) Carrier; one sister, Mary Jane Wickham; one brother-in-law, Robert (Sharon) Westman; three sisters-in-law, Carol Koenig, Patricia Walsh, and Christine (Dennis) Ward; four grandchildren, Michelle (Nate) Wolthuis, Elaina Carrier, Taggert Liam Carrier, and Jaxon Savage Carrier; three great-grandchildren, Sammuel Friedrich, Sophia Friedrich, and Timothy Wolthuis; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lou (Hagerty) Savage; one brother, Robert Savage; one sister-in-law, Nancy Hagerty; and three brothers-in-law, James Walsh, James Hagerty, and Robert Wickham. Pallbearers will be Roy Garland, Brian Garland, Dennis Godbey, Mike DeBernardi, Mike Galletti, and Mike Heredia. Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick's Parish or OSF St. Elizabeth Hospice.
