EARLVILLE -- Willard F. McLachlan, 87, of Earlville, died Thursday, Nov. 8, at Mendota Community Hospital. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Church in Naplate with the Rev. Philip Halfacre officiating. Burial will be in St. Theresa Cemetery in Earlville. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Ottawa Funeral Home. Mr. McLachlan was born Feb. 6, 1920, in Freedom Township, to Donald and Mary (Woods) McLachlan. He married Virginia Fitzgerald on Sept. 18, 1952, at St. Mary's Church in Utica. He was a farmer and member of Knights of Columbus, St. Mary's Church, St. Mary's Holy Name Society and La Salle County Farm Bureau. He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Alice (Jim) Carey of McNabb; two sons, Paul (Amy) of Waltham Township and Don (Carol) of Ophir Township; seven grandchildren, Patricia George; Heather Suarez and David, Angela, Katherine, Will and Michael McLachlan; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Emmett (Camille) of Ottawa. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Laurence. Pallbearers will be Bob, Jack, Jim and Chris McLachlan, Pete George and Erik Suarez.
