Wayne A. Anderson, 82, of Seneca, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2026 at Lightways Hospice in Joliet.

Wayne was born September 1, 1943 to Carl A. and Joanne T. (Vicich) Anderson at Morris Hospital in Morris, IL.

He was a 1957 graduate of St. Patrick's Grade School in Seneca, and a graduate of Seneca Township High School in 1961. He later graduated from Illinois Valley Community College. He also served in the United States Army.

Wayne married Linda K. Lynch on October 12, 1967 at St. Patrick's Church in Seneca. Together they raised their three children, Brad, Kathy, and Terri in Seneca.

Mr. Anderson was a "Card-carrying" member of Local 393 for 15 years and a casualty claims representative for 29 years. Further, Mr. Anderson was a 20 year member of the Seneca Lions Club, serving in several offices, including president. He served on the Seneca Village Council as commissioner of Public Health & Safety, and later as mayor of Seneca. He also served as special projects officer for 4 1/2 years.

Wayne is survived by his son, Bradley K. (late Brenda) Anderson of Bonfield, IL; two daughters, Kathleen M. (Larry) Rasmussen and Theresa L. (late Dale) Helland both of Seneca; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; his brother, Ronald (late Penny) Anderson; his sister-in-laws, DeeDee (late Tom) Green, Sherry (Roger) Braham, Sue (Darrell) Peterson, and Mary (Don) Wamsley; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Joanne; his beloved wife, Linda; his son, Eric Wayne, who passed away at birth; and his brother-in-law, Mike (Donna) Lynch.

Following Wayne's wishes, private funeral services will be held and burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery at a later date. Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
