Walter Skolek Sr.

Walter L. Skolek Sr., 96, of Ottawa passed away June 4, 2018 at his home. Graveside services will be held 10 am, Thursday, June 7 at Ottawa Avenue Cemetery with Rev. David Kipfer officiating, with military services. Walter was born April 22, 1922 in Naplate, Illinois to Lenhart and Ernistine (Matusek) Skolek. He married Philomena Lust May 10, 1947 in Ottawa; shepassed away May 31, 2011. Walter was a member of the United States Army, serving during WWII. He is survived by one son, Walter R. Skolek Jr. of Ottawa; one daughter, Dianne (William) Yarbrough of Peoria; two grandchildren, Bryan R. Clairmont and Julia Clairmont both of Peoria; He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Philomena. Memorials may be directed to Ottawa Regional Healthcare and Hospital Hospice.
