Veronica Pallai

Veronica Pallai, 93, of Streator, formally of Naplate, died, Saturday, October 2, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at St. Mary's Church. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 pm, Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Veronica was born January 14, 1917, in Ottawa, Illinois, to Jacob and Margaret (Malise) Dubach. She married Louis L. Pallai Sr. February 10, 1934 in Ottawa, he died Oct. 24, 2001. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Naplate. She is survived by one daughter, JoAnn Kreier of Streator; one son, Louis E. Pallai Jr.; eight grandchildren, Dr. Donald Deckard, Master Sergeant, Timothy Kreier, Kathi Kreier, Greg Kreier, Dr. Kevin Kreier, Lisa Bongartz, Michele Carey and Angie Sonday; fourteen great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; one brother, Andrew Dubach of Marseilles; and one sister, Jean St. Arnold of Ottawa. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, James and Jacky Pallai; one daughter, Mary Ellen; one granddaughter, Treasure Decker; one great-granddaughter, Jenna Sonday; two brothers, John and Jake Dubach; three sisters, Anna Bailey, Rose Abernathy, and Mary Dubach. Pallbearers will be Mike Carey, Donald Deckard Sr., Donald Deckard Jr., Kevin, Tim and Greg Kreier. Memorials may be directed to Marquette Academy.
