Verna Miller

Verna Miller, 81, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Funeral Ceremony will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be 11:30 to 1:00 pm Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Ottawa Funeral Home prior to services. She will be buried in St. Columba Cemetery. Verna was born October 3, 1932 in Ottawa, Illinois to Alfred and Louise (Luttrell) Midnight. She married Joseph Miller on October 22, 1950 in Ottawa. She was a member of St. Columba Church. Verna and her husband Joe owned and operated a Vitamin and Herb shop for many years. She is survived by two sisters, Lucille Marek and Dolores Brooks; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph. Pallbearers will be Mike Marek, Bobby Hornbeck, Doug Schomas, Harvey Norwick, and Randy Alvarado. Memorials may be directed to her family.
