Vera Small

Vera R. Small, 94, of Ottawa, Il., died, Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Ottawa Regional Hospital and Healthcare Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday at St. Mary's Church, with the Rev. Lourduraj Ignatius, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday at Ottawa Funeral Home, with prayers at 4:00 pm with the Catholic Daughters of Americas. Vera Small was born March 22, 1915, in Ottawa, IL., to John and Vernicka (Furock) Sagi Sr. She married Stanley Small on Sept. 4, 1937 at St. Francis of Assisi Church he died April 12, 2001. She was a member of St. Mary Church their Altar and Rosary Soc. The Women of The Moose and Catholic Daughters of Americas. She is survived by two sons,Charles (Diane) Small of Ottawa, and Tony (Peggy) of Mansfield, TX; two daughters, Judith Bachman of Lander Wyoming,and Mary Small of Chicago; Five grandchildren, Brad Small, Nick Small, Amber Black, Jason and ,Michael Uccetta; four great-grandchildren Maura and Erin Small, Edan Uccetta ,and Morgan Masingil; one brother, Joe Sagi of Ottawa; two sisters, Anna Elzer of Joliet, and Ethel Bryant of Charlotte, NC. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Jean Uccetta; three brothers, Andrew, James and John Sagi; two sisters Rose Sproule and Mary Tabor. Pallbearers will be Brad Small, Robert Hylin, John Sagi, Serge Uccetta, Michael Uccetta, and George Small. Memorials may be directed to St. Mary Church or Heritage Woods of Ottawa.
