Urie Kerwell

Urie R. Kerwell, 79, of Marseilles passed away Friday, September 6, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. A memorial service for Urie will be 11:00 Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd at Oakwood Memorial Park with Rev. David Davies officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 - 11:00, one hour prior to services Wednesday at Chapel of Good Shepherd at Oakwood Memorial Park. Cremation rites have been entrusted to Ottawa Funeral Home. Urie was born July 12, 1934 in Ottawa, Illinois to Charles and Anna (Hartsharek) Kerwell. He married Diane Studebaker April 1, 1956 at First United Methodist Church in Ottawa. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Urie had a passion for riding motorcycles, driving go-carts, fishing, camping, guns, and watching NASCAR. He was a lifelong Bears fan. He loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Diane; one son, Ronald Kerwell of Arkansas; two daughters, Lisha (Scott Colle) Richmond of Sandwich and Lori (Fred) Kline of Marseilles; seven grandchildren, Jake Richmond, Lacy Linton, Amanda and Crystal Kerwell, Stacy Stevenson, Kiley and Ashley Burke; and eight great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brother, Charles Kerwell; his sister, Edna Sharek; and his daughter-in-law, Cheri Kerwell. Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church, 100 W.
