Thomas Wilcox

Thomas Richard Wilcox, 72, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away Monday, October 28, 2013, at LaSalle County Nursing Home in Ottawa. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2013, at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Ottawa with Rev. Mike Adrie officiating. He will be buried at Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Ottawa Funeral Home oversaw his cremation. Thomas was born June 4, 1941, in Ottawa, Illinois, to James Frederick and Magdalene (Heiss) Wilcox. Thomas served his country as a Private in the United States Army and also served as a Military Policeman. He attended Illinois Valley Community College. He was a construction laborer and an Antiquities collector. He was a life-long member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and Starved Rock Civil War Round Table. He is survived by two sisters, Carol (Robert) Grottkau of Spokane, WA and Marian (Dale) Dondelinger of Oswego; one brother, James Wilcox of Utica; four nieces; and three nephews.
