Thomas "Bud" Walsh, 90, of Ottawa passed away Monday, February 22, 2016 at Ottawa Pavilion. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 Monday, February 29, 2016 at St. Patrick's Church with Rev. Tony Fevlo officiating. Visitation will be 2:00 - 5:00 Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Ottawa Funeral Home with prayers at 1:45. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Bud was born November 6, 1925 in Ottawa, Illinois to John and Mary K (O'Donnell) Walsh. He married Elizabeth Hadley, she preceded him in death September 12, 1961. He married Marilyn (Wilson) Jones October 16, 1963; she passed away June 17, 2008. He retired from LOF after 38 years of service. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church and Knights of Columbus. He was a past usher at St. Patrick's Church and attended Mass daily. To his family he was known as the jack of all trades; he especially enjoyed helping them around their houses fixing things. He enjoyed gardening and helping around the K of C hall with Bingo and all other club activities. He is survived by eight children, Donald (JoAnn) Jones, Lou Anne (Bob) Carretto, Nancy (Jon) Lowe, Roger Jones, Terry (Roxanne) Jones, Kathy (James) O'Gara, John (Amy) Walsh, Tracy (Daniel) Bedeker; twenty grandchildren, Gabe (Joanne) Carretto, Abe (Krista) Carretto, Butch (Liz) Carretto, Rachel (Dan) Green, Rebecca (James) Prideaux, Sarah (Michael) Alaimo, Nathan (Heather) Dilley, Ashley Lowe, Elizabeth Ann, Glenn, and Megan Jones, Jimmy, Sean, and Thomas O'Gara, Andrew and Olivia Walsh, Emma and Max Bedeker, and Eric and Shane Jansen; eighteen great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Irene Walsh, Catherine Harmon, Margie Aubry, and Joanne Stortz; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his wives, Elizabeth and Marilyn; one daughter, Peggy, and two siblings, Leo Walsh and Rita Pillion. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Memorials may be directed to his family.
