Thomas F. Waldron, 85, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away Monday, October 29, 2012 at Pleasant View. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at St. Columba Church with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2012 at Ottawa Funeral Home with prayers at 4:00 p.m. with the Knights of Columbus in attendance. Private burial will be at a later date. He was born September 18, 1927 in Waltham Township, Utica, the son of Francis and Margaret (Pillion) Waldron. Thomas was a member of St. Columba Church and the Knights of Columbus. He retired from the Midwest Operating Engineers, Local #150 with 45 years of service. He enjoyed gardening and cooking along with many years of travel to the warm weather of Mexico. He was very generous in offering his time and talents, always helping others. He is survived by his long time companion, Donna Carretto of Ottawa; three sons, Thomas (Jane) Waldron of Ottawa, Terry Waldron of Ottawa, and Tim (Sherri) Waldron of Utica; a sister, Cathy (Guy) Scoma of Colorado; grandchildren, Brad (Lindsay) Waldron of Ottawa and Janelle Waldron of Oak Park; three great grandchildren, Grant, Taylor, and Meredith Waldron; two nieces and four nephews along with many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Lucille Cleer. Pallbearers will be Brad Waldron, Janelle Waldron, Lindsay Waldron, Ron Pillion, Bob Pillion, Mark Carretto, Bob Carretto, Greg Carretto, Guy Scoma, Sr., and Jim Berg. Honorary pallbearers will be Guy Scoma, Jr., Laurie Scoma White, Steve Scoma, Ann Scoma Harton, Gerald Cleer, Mike Cleer, and Guillermo Sanchez Fuentes. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude's or St. Columba Church.
