Thomas J Murphy

Thomas Murphy, 84, of Ottawa, IL, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at LaSalle County Nursing Home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am Friday November 18, 2022 at St. Columba Church, with Msgr. Mark Merdian officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, November 17, 2022, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery.

Thomas was born July 5, 1938, in Coin, IA, to Thomas A. and Winifred (Snowdall) Murphy. He married Marlene Wink on May 26, 1961 in Lincoln, Nebraska.

He ended his career as principal at Ottawa Twp. High School, where he taught Earth Science and Chemistry and coached football. He was a member of St Columba Church.

He is survived  by his wife, Marlene; two sons, Michael (Jan) and Patrick (Cheryl) Murphy; five grandchildren, Daniel(Madison), Matt, Colin, Kate and Jessica.

Thomas was preceded in death by parents.

Pallbearers will be Tony Morgan, Daniel, Matt and, Steve Malinsky, Dan Manullang, Paul Pike and Brad Armstrong.
