Therese Helffrich

Therese M. Helffrich, 79, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away Tuesday December 3, 2013 at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 6, 2013 at St. Patrick's Church with Rev. Jules Adator officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Ottawa Funeral Home with the Rosary being recited at 4:00 p.m. She will be buried in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery at a later date. Therese was born October 4, 1934, in Ottawa, Illinois, to Maurice and Marie (Scherer) Burke. She married Austin Helffrich at St. Patrick's Church on October 20, 1956. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church. She is survived by her husband, Austin; one daughter, Debra (Terence) Alsvig-Einhaus; two sons, Austin "Aunnie" Helffrich and Tim Helffrich; three grandchildren, Curtiss Alsvig, David Alsvig, and Lindsay (C.J. ) Lyon; three great grandchildren Payton, Ryleigh, Makenna Lyon; and one sister, Mary Elaine Eichelkraut of Frankfort. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Robert Burke; and two sisters, Rita Burke and Dorothy Burke. Pallbearers will be Curtiss Alsvig, David Alsvig, C.J. Lyon, Dan Eichelkraut, Gerard Eichelkraut and David Eichelkraut. Memorials may be directed to the Family.
