Thelma Vernoy

Thelma E. "Liz" Vernoy, 83, of Streator passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Streator. Funeral Service for Liz will be 1:00 PM Monday, October 8, 2012 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. David Kipfer of St. Columba Church officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 to 1:00 PM Monday at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Thelma was born June 27, 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri. She married Hamilton Vernoy. She is survived by her brother, Earl (Bonnie) Vernoy of Ottawa; three sisters, Madonna Vernoy, Ursela "Jean" (Dale) Wheaton, and Melody "Ann" (Don) Salisburg all of Streator. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Agnes (Fleming) Vernoy; one brother, Ruben Shirley; and two sisters, Barbara Ann Thomas and Carol Jeanette Severson. Pallbearers will be Timothy E. Sterling, Timothy A. Sterling, Samantha Wheaton, Dustin Wheaton, Robert Wheaton, Dale Wheaton, Kent Butterfield, Tony Shirley, and James L. Martin, Jr. Memorials may be directed to the family.
