Terry Speirer

OTTAWA -- Terry "Slick" Speirer, 46, of Ottawa, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, at St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Church in Naplate with Father Lourduraj Ignatius officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Ottawa Funeral Home. Mr. Speirer was born Oct. 21, 1960 in Ottawa to Donald and Joan (Caldwell) Speirer. He married Julie Newman on Nov. 12, 1988. He was a self-employed carpenter and was a member of Carpenter's Local 916 in Downers Grove. He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Shelby, at home; a nephew, Ryan Speirer of Ottawa; and one sister, Kathy (Bruce) Smith of Ottawa. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Danny and one son, William John. Memorials may be directed to the family. Pallbearers will be Bill King, Bruce Smith, Ryan Speirer, Mark Bongartz, Kevin Gray, Pete Cook, Dave Wallace and Dan Mennie. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremiah Mettille, Ron Davis, Kenneth Johnson, Jeremy King, Mike Weygand, Pete Dilley, Jeff Cofoid, Kyle Johnson, Brad Hawk, Al Treest and Mike Reynolds.
