Terrence Zellers

OTTAWA -- Terrence J. "Ted" Zellers, 71, of Ottawa, died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Columba Church. The Rev. Ronald Dodd will officiate. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery with Military Services. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ottawa Funeral Home. Prayers will be at 8 p.m. Mr. Zellers was born May 5, 1936, in Ottawa, to Terrence and Ann (Ritchie) Zellers. He married June Pommier on Sept. 17, 1959, at St. Columba Church in Ottawa. He was employed by Libby Owens Ford for 43 years. He served in the Third Armored Division in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1962. He was a member of St. Columba Church. He managed Ottawa Little League Braves for many years; was former president of Ottawa Sports for Youth; was a member of the American Legion Post 33; and a Labor of Love House captain for the past 14 years. He is survived by his wife; three sons, Terry, George and Dean Zellers, all of Ottawa; 10 grandchildren, Colby, Courtnye, Brian, Bobby, Bradley, Haley, Tyler and Tanner Zellers; Chloe Healea and Chase Nicholson; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Anna Mae Sommers and Mary Zellers, both of Ottawa; and one brother, Bill (Helen) Zellers of Ottawa. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, George. Pallbearers will be Colby, Brian, Bobby, Bradley, Tyler and Tanner Zellers. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Wright, John Dougherty and Harry Donnelly.
