Tanner Paul Scott "Gungrave 96" Gerkitz, 14, of Marseilles, died August 25, 2008. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, August 29, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church in Ottawa with the Rev. John Walker officiating. Cremation Rites will be accorded following the funeral service. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 28, 2008 at Ottawa Funeral Home and also from 10:00 - 11:00 AM on Friday, August 29, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church. Tanner was born March 28, 1994, in Peru to Scott Gerkitz and Cynthia (Craig) Pullara. He graduated 8th grade from Milton Pope Elementary School and was currently a freshman at Ottawa Township High School and was on the soccer team. Tanner is survived by his dad, Scott Gerkitz of Ottawa; his mom and step-dad, Cynthia and Bernie Pullara; brothers and sisters, Haley, Scotty, Madison, Bernie, Joseph, Lily and Katarina; grandparents, Ray and Jan Gerkitz of Ottawa, Paul Craig of Marseilles, Bernard Pullara of Joliet and Nancy Scott of Streator; great grandparents, Wanda Block of Texas, Helen West of LaSalle and Rose Pullara of Joliet; Godparents, Uncle Ray Gerkitz and Aunt Donna Ortiz. Tanner was preceded in death by an Uncle, Dustin Gerkitz and grandmother Jackie Craig. Pallbearers will be Raymond Gerkitz, Jake Ferguson, Brody Smith, Kory Schott, Kinsey LuAllen and Jacob, Tyler and Madison Kettman.
